Set a client's targets
Turn on Nutrition, set calorie and macro targets, edit context and micronutrients.
Where: Web or mobile app, for coaches
Set a client's daily calorie and macro targets. You can enter them yourself or let Demotu suggest them. On web you can also edit the client's nutrition context and set micronutrient targets.
Steps
Turn on Nutrition
Open the client, open the Nutrition tab, and tap Enable nutrition - $19/mo. Then finish checkout.
Set daily targets
Open the client and tap the Nutrition tab.
If the client has no targets yet, tap Set daily goals.
Pick Set custom goals or Get a recommendation.
For custom goals, enter the targets and tap Save goals.
The client needs a date of birth before you can save targets. If it is missing, edit the client and add it.
Get a recommendation
Tap Get a recommendation.
Fill in any missing details, then tap Get a recommendation again.
Review the targets, then tap Use recommendation to save them.
On mobile, you can only fill in missing body details while you ask for a recommendation. To edit the full nutrition context or micronutrient targets, use web.
Common questions
I see the Nutrition prompt, but no button to turn it on. Why?
Only solo coaches and org admins can buy the add-on. Some organizations have a custom contract. In that case, contact Demotu support.
Why was the suggestion refused?
Demotu does not suggest targets for clients under 18, pregnant or nursing clients, clients with a history of eating disorders or a high-risk pregnancy, or clients with an incomplete profile. It also refuses when the suggested calories would fall below a safe minimum. In that case, select Review goal and rate and choose a slower weekly change. For the other cases, ask a doctor or dietitian, or enter targets by hand.
What about other health conditions?
Demotu still suggests targets. The targets keep the client's weight steady, and Demotu adds a note to check with a doctor.
Why do I see a warning when I save?
The targets are outside general guidance, for example a low calorie target or an unusual macro split. Pregnancy or health details on the client also show this warning. A Review nutrition targets window explains why. Review the targets, then select Save anyway, or select Back to change them.
Can I change weight in kilograms?
The weight and height boxes follow the unit setting of your account. They show pounds and feet and inches, or kilograms and centimeters. To change the units, open your profile and pick Imperial or Metric.
Where do I see the numbers against what the client ate?
In the Log card on the Nutrition tab. Each nutrient shows what the client logged against the target for the day. See Review what a client logged.
