Build a workout
Create, edit, log, copy and delete a client's workouts.
Where: Web or mobile app, for coaches
A workout is one day of training for one client. Build it on the Training tab, then edit, log, copy or delete it from the same place. Steps differ a little by device.
Steps
Create a workout
Open the client, go to Training, and tap an empty day on the calendar. The Create workout screen opens.
Add a Title (required), date, and instructions.
Tap Add section for parts like Warm-up. (Optional.)
Add exercises and set the targets.
Tap Create.
Build the workout with Borelli
On Create workout, tap AI.
In Generate workout, fill in Number of exercises, Workout focus, Muscle group, Additional instructions (optional), Difficulty, Exercise source, and Equipment (or Custom equipment to pick items one by one).
Tap Generate workout. Borelli fills the builder. Check the exercises.
Tap Create.
If the workout already has exercises, the window is called Workout options. From scratch replaces the plan. Continue workout (Continue day when you edit a saved workout) adds exercises where you set Placement. Some accounts see a review screen: change the Name, swap or delete an exercise, then tap Save reviewed workouts. Discard throws it away.
Sections, supersets and set schemes
Add a section: tap Add section, type a Section name and an optional description, and tap Create section. Tap Delete section to remove it.
Put an exercise in a section: tap Add to section and pick it. Tap Remove from section to take it out.
Superset: tap Superset on an exercise, pick partners from the same section (or the main workout), and tap Create superset. Tap Break superset to split it.
Type sets fast: on an exercise, tap Enter. In Enter a scheme, type a pattern like 4x8 @135 r90 and tap Apply. Tap Scheme syntax help for each part: sets by reps, @ weight, @75% percent of 1RM, r rest, e RPE, t tempo. Tap Use chips to go back to the normal fields, where you can tap one of the Recent schemes.
Reorder exercises
Open the workout and tap Edit. (For a new workout, tap an empty day.)
Above the exercise list, tap the Reorder icon.
In Reorder workout, press and hold an item and drag it. To reorder inside a section or superset, tap Reorder on that row, drag, and tap the back arrow.
Tap Save, then Update (or Create).
Replace an exercise, add notes, let clients swap
Replace: tap Edit, then the Replace exercise icon (swap arrows). Search, select, tap Replace exercise, then Update. On mobile it changes only this workout. For a whole block, use web.
Notes: tap Edit, tap the Exercise notes icon, type in Add notes for this exercise..., and tap Create or Update.
Swap options: open the exercise and tap Choose variations. Pick the swaps. Choose This exercise only or Use for future exercises.
Let clients edit freely: open Account and turn on Allow clients to add and edit exercises. Notes and logged results can always be edited.
Past sessions: tap Previous sets on an exercise.
Comments
Open the workout. Tap Start workout (or Edit log if it is complete).
On the exercise, tap Comments. Read them. To reply, type in Add a comment... and tap the send arrow. If there are none, you see No comments yet.

Open the workout and tap Start workout. The button says Resume if you already logged sets, or Edit log if the workout is complete.
Tap a set that says Tap to log.
Enter what the client did, such as Reps, Weight, Time, Distance, or RPE. Tap Log set.
Tap Log as programmed to fill the planned numbers, Copy previous set to copy the set above, or Add set for a set the plan did not have.
To stop for now, tap More actions, then Pause workout. Your sets are kept.
Mark a workout complete or incomplete
Open the workout and tap Mark complete. At Mark workout complete?, tap Mark complete. Or tap Finish on the logging screen. If no sets are logged, the app asks Finish workout without any sets logged? Tap Continue.
On Workout RPE, pick 1 to 10 (Easy, Moderate, Extreme).
Tap Complete workout.
To undo it, tap Mark incomplete. Choose Keep exercise logs (the sets stay) or Clear exercise logs (the sets are removed). To fix a number in a complete workout, tap Edit log, change it, and tap Save log.
Copy, move or notify
Copy: open the workout and tap Copy. In Copy to dates, pick dates. Under Copy from, choose Programmed or Completed. Tap Copy to N dates.
Notify: choose Notify client from the menu, write a message, and tap Send.
Delete workouts
One workout: open it, tap Delete workout, then Delete.
Many workouts: tap the three dots next to Schedule (Open training actions), then Delete workouts. Tap each date. Tap Delete (2), then Confirm delete (2). You see Deleted selected workouts.
Common questions
Can I add an exercise that is not in the library?
Yes. On web, use Write-In for a one-time exercise. To save it for later, add it to the library. See Add, edit and delete your own exercises. A write-in cannot be used to replace an exercise.
How many workouts can Borelli make?
Each workout counts against your monthly Borelli limit. The window shows it, such as 2 / 300 used. If you are in an organization, everyone shares the limit. On web, select Increase Limit to see options.
Borelli shows "The request could not be completed." What now?
Select Retry (Try again on mobile). If it keeps failing, check your equipment and exercise source. To add to a day that has a workout, open that workout, select Edit Workout, then Generate.
Do my changes save as soon as I reorder or remove an exercise?
No. Nothing saves until you select Update or Create.
Can I replace a whole superset?
Replace the exercises inside it one at a time.
My client cannot swap an exercise. Why?
You have not picked swap options for that exercise, and client editing is off.
Can I type sets like 4x8 @135 in one line?
Yes, in the mobile app. See Sections, supersets and set schemes in the mobile steps.
Can I rename a section, copy a section, or add recommended exercises on mobile?
Not at this time. Use web.
Where did my unsaved workout go?
Unsaved changes stay only in the browser you used. Open the builder there again.
Can I import one workout from a file?
Yes, into a new workout template. Open Templates, select New Workout, then select Import. You can use a PDF, Word or Excel file, or pasted text. This feature is in beta.
Must I log every exercise before I complete a workout?
No. You can complete a workout with some or all exercises not logged.
What does RPE mean?
How hard the effort felt, from 1 to 10. Some exercises ask for it on each set. The whole workout also gets one RPE when you complete it.
What if I typed numbers and did not select Save?
On web, Complete Workout also saves the numbers you typed. On mobile, each set saves when you tap Log set.
Can I see a week of workouts, or print one?
Yes, on web. Select Detailed Week View under the calendar, then Print week. To make a PDF of one workout, see Make a PDF of a workout or block.
Can I get a deleted workout back?
No. Deleting cannot be undone.
