Create a paid signup link for a package
Needs a connected, verified Stripe account.
Where: Web or mobile app, for coaches
Before you start, your Stripe account must be connected and verified. If it is not, you can fill in the steps, but the screen says Finish payment setup before creating a paid link. and Create link stays greyed out. Choose Set up payments and follow the steps in "Connect Stripe to get paid."
Steps
Your Stripe account must be connected and verified first. The mobile app makes a basic package. To add session passes, a sale price, a signup flow or a redirect, use the web app.
Tap the plus button, then tap Payments.
Under Quick actions, tap Packages.
Tap the plus button at the top right. The New package screen opens.
Enter a Package name.
Optional: add a Description (optional).
Enter the Price (USD). It must be more than $0.
Optional: under Training block, pick a Block template. Clients get it when they buy.
Under Payment type, tap Subscription or One-time. Subscription is picked at first.
For a subscription, pick a Billing interval: Weekly, Monthly or Yearly. Monthly is picked at first. You can also enter a Free trial period (optional) in days. One-time packages have no trial.
Tap Create package.
You see "Package created. Share the link with potential clients." You then have a link new clients can use to sign up and pay.
Common questions
Can I change the price later?
No. The screen says Price is fixed after a link is created. Create a new link with the new price, then archive the old one.
What are the limits?
The price must be at least $0.01. Trial days go from 0 to 365. A sale discount goes from 1 to 99 percent, and the sale price must be at least $0.50. The redirect address must start with https.
How do I stop selling a package?
Choose the link name in the list, choose Archive, then choose Archive again in the Archive link window. New purchases stop. Existing subscriptions, payment history and passes stay. To bring it back, open Archived links at the bottom of the list and choose Restore.
What does the client see?
The client opens your link, enters an email, pays through Stripe, then sets up a Demotu account. Subscriptions with a trial show Start Free Trial.
Why does a client see "An account with this email already exists. Please log in."?
That email already has a Demotu account. The client should log in instead.
Why does a client see that I am not accepting new clients?
Your account has reached its client limit, so new clients cannot sign up right now.
What about free signup links?
Free links sign clients up without payment. To make one, open the account menu, choose Setup, then Signup links, and choose Create on the Free view. Free links cannot include passes or a block template.
Can I change the price later?
The edit screen lets you change the name, description, block template and visibility only. To change a price, create a new package and delete or hide the old one.
Why do I see an error when I tap Create package?
The screen checks four things: a package name, a price above $0, a billing interval for subscriptions, and a trial period that is zero or more.
