  1. Open the Clients tab and select the client.

  2. Open the Assessments tab and tap History. You see Assessment history.

  5. Type your note.

  6. Select Save. Select Cancel to discard it.

Delete an assessment:

  1. Open the Clients tab and select the client.

  2. Open the Assessments tab and tap History. The Assessment history screen opens.

  3. Swipe the assessment row to the left. Buttons show on the right.

  4. Select the red Delete button.

Start a new assessment

This is on the mobile app. You assess a client in person with one phone.

Before you start:

  • Find a well-lit spot. Busy backgrounds can make the scores less accurate.

  • Have the client stand 7 to 8 feet from the camera. Keep the client's whole body in the frame.

  • Hold the phone steady. A tripod or gimbal helps.

Steps:

  1. Open the Demotu app.

  2. On Home, tap Start Assessment. You can also open a client, go to the Assessments tab, and tap Start.

  3. If you started from Home, choose a mode. If you started from a client, skip to step 4.

    • Individual to assess one client. Tap the client. To assess someone who is not saved as a client, tap the Guest client row.

    • Multiple to assess several clients, one after another. Choose two or more clients, then tap Continue. Everyone does the same movements.

  4. Choose a battery, or tap movements one by one. Use Search batteries and movements to find them.

  5. Tap Start. In Multiple mode, tap Start assessments.

  6. If the Before recording sheet appears, hand the phone to the client, or to a parent or guardian for a minor. If the sheet asks for the person's age, choose 18 or older or Under 18. If the sheet shows a signature box, sign. Then tap Agree and continue (for a minor, Sign and continue).

  7. The assessment screen shows one card for each movement. To see how to do a movement, tap Instructions under its card.

  8. Tap a movement card to open the camera. The first time you tap a movement, a how-to guide opens first. Tap Record. With the front camera, a countdown runs before the recording starts. Coach the client through the movement. The recording usually stops by itself when the movement ends. You can also tap Stop recording.

  9. On the Review movement screen, watch the replay. Tap SAVE, or tap Retake movement. For a movement done one side at a time, tap SAVE AND PERFORM LEFT to save the first side and record the other side.

  10. Repeat for each movement. The screen shows how many movements are done, for example "3/5 movements completed". When every movement is done, the assessment is sent automatically.

  11. To finish early, tap Complete Assessment. You need at least one saved movement.

  12. Results appear after Demotu processes each movement. On some accounts, Demotu also sends you a notification when the results are ready or when a movement needs to be recorded again.

Common questions

Can I edit a note later?

Yes. Select the pencil icon again, on web or on mobile. Change the text and save. To remove a note on web, delete all the text and select the save icon. The box then says No notes added yet.

I am an org admin and cannot edit notes on web.

On web, the pencil icon shows on coach accounts only. An admin-only account can read notes but cannot change them. Sign in with a coach account to change notes.

Can I get a deleted assessment back?

No.

Why is there no Delete icon on web?

Joint comparison results do not have a Delete icon.

Why do I not see the PDF or Export CSV icon?

Can I record on a laptop?

No. Record assessments in the mobile app. Review results on web or mobile.

Does the client need sensors or a wearable?

No. You need one phone with a camera.

The consent sheet appears the first time you assess a client. For a guest, it appears every time. If your organization collects consent another way, the sheet does not appear.
